Yup! I went and did the unthinkable; I migrated my blog from Drupal to WordPress. I found a great resource, over at D’Arcy Norman dot net, that helped me immensely with copying over the tables, etc. to the new database.
It was time. I no longer need all the functionality of Drupal, so WordPress was the obvious choice. Just a warning, however, that things will be mighty funky-looking/acting around here for a while until I get all the photos/images, links, categories and comment issues ironed out.
Also, I know I’ve been quiet around here lately, and I will update with more soon. Both Kevin and I have been busy working on several side projects. Hope you are all well!

I am in my late-20's, married, a mom to a beautiful baby boy, and live in Austin, Texas. I blog about a myriad of subjects, often touching on my experiences, feelings and travels (and occasionally my cats). I'm also a huge animal lover, an outdoor enthusiast, a multi-faceted geek, a proud Mac user and an open-minded old soul.

Cool! Good job! To be clear, though, I didn’t write that script - I just cleaned it up a bit. The script originated at http://vrypan.net/log/2005/03/10/migrating-from-drupal-to-wordpress/ and I just tweaked it for my use.
Now that you’re in WP land, be sure to check out Spam Karma 2 for antispam ninja action, and WP-Cache for file-based caching to make the site perform well under load.

Hey, thanks for the kudos D’Arcy Norman! I will check out both of your recommended plugins, although as of yet, I am pretty happy with Akismet for the spam. We shall see how it fares once my site is up and running again, however.

Looks nice! You’re only missing the KMRL link!
Nice to be able to comment!

No worries! There are lots of links missing, but the KMRL Blog is always in my Blogroll (see sidebar). I had a “blonde moment” and completely dumped my Drupal database, so I have to go off of memory (and what I have on my local computer) as to what my last layout had in the sidebar.
I’m working on getting it all back up as fast as possible in the free time I have. :) And I’m so glad you can comment, too!
